Beyond our core courses, CBI also designs and delivers customized programs in negotiation, partnering, and consensus building that help groups to build capacity at individual, group, and institutional levels. Three examples of these programs are Joint Training, Joint Fact-Finding, and our Workable Peace curriculum and programs.
Joint Training. CBI has helped organizations and groups to learn to work together more effectively through tailored training courses that help them to negotiate and to understand ways of handling ongoing disputes and areas of conflict. Examples of Joint Training:
› ITAB/CEPA
› Joint Environmental Mediation Service
Joint Fact-Finding. CBI provides training in a process called Joint Fact Finding (“JFF”) for groups and agencies that face technically complex or scientifically contentious problems. We were among the pioneers of this process and provide training in JFF as a stand-alone process and as a key component of consensus building around complex or scientifically contentious decisions. Example of JFF:
› U.S. Geological Survey
Workable Peace. CBI has helped schools and teachers to integrate collaborative problem-solving skills and concepts into diverse curricula through the Workable Peace Program.
